Mmmm...mm...
The physics on this game will surely be it's selling point alone, add to that the vast array of vehicles ( too many to mention ) available for tuning/modding/individualizing ... But in the graphics war, I think GranTurismo has already taken that cake.
Could also be because they're having a lot of mechanical problems w/ HD-DVD?, if this is true then, would Microsoft have to pay Sony to get the copyrights to use their format as this Blu-Ray was a Sony invention/patent. Anyone?
Think this could be wrong, because besides the diodes on the Blu-Ray getting cheaper to produce - something or somehow around the console must also be discounted. And It's been awhile since the PS3 was already released on the market... So definitely the price could be even more lower than what's shown on the stats. And by then a number of games would have been more readily available and have a lower over-the-counter costs. That would be the best time to finally get a PS3 ( rumble on sixaxis -...
Very underrated game, should have deserved better. Really catchy and imaginative ditty-songs/raps when it was released on the PS1.
The Benchmark on graphics as I'ved said before is definitely GranTurismo, ( perfect details, correct scaling )and then the others. With physics - it's others', and then GranTurismo ( If the manufacturers agree { soon } w/ Sony Polyphony to put in damage-mode ) for it to be considered an actual sim-game. Ricocheting thru background structures is not simulation let alone not having dents/parts falling off when you ever do crash onto something.
Until we see the actual gameplay videos ( not screenshots, trailers ) comments should only be based on how the graphics look. Still hoping though that this game will deliver the goods and not just ride on the back of the movie... Because most Mech-games ( anyway ) never had a very long shelf-life but with this is, the overriding factor that would make or break this title is it's popularity with the masses.
I definitely agree that ( all ) GranTurismos before and probably this as well have might not have damage mode which is just totally wrong and embarrasing considering that it is supposed to be a sim game with such stunning graphics - imagine ricocheting over barrier fences, plastis tape markings ( lol!! ), background stuctures. But then some you fanboys are completely yapping too much with your mindless insipid complaints ( Close_Second* where do all the spectators park?!, or do they walk for ...
It's all business, that's what this is all about, nothing more - nothing less
Yes, it is a slap in the face for everyone who have just recently bought ( a white premium xbox 360 ) and had never anticipated the release of this black elite console. They would surely feel betrayed by MS for suddenly coming-out with this model when before this they kept releasing statements over theirs' and other websites that this was only a rumor and will definitely not build this console, which was all totally false in the end. Imagine the horror of all their fans' wishes ( definitely t...
Totally unacceptable, one for Nintendo to release this game knowing how bad the presentation of the title looks ( especially that the Spiderman series is a big franchise ). Two for the game developers, they should all be sued for making such an inexcusably unfinished game, what a bunch of bludgers - all of them, they should have known better.
Love watching the LeMans, DTM, JGTC and the likes - think this is how racing cars are supposed to actually look like, and this is the only game available dedicated to the series. Good news, and hope they release it soon. Saw a few shots/videos ( on GTR2 PC-games ) and liked the in-car camera angles, graphics though could have been better. Do you think this will improve for the XBox 360?
By far the most impressive next-gen graphics for a ( driving, racing ) semi-simulator game - truly has set the bar on which others should follow... Now if Sony could only implement damage-mode ( hopefully very, very soon - anyone from Sony please... ), it would be a perfect sim-based game. I also believe by the time this game is released, force-feedback on the sixaxis would have been returned, so one down - one more to go....
This version of GranTurismo might actually be the first-ever racing game to blur the difference in graphical excellence between reality and fiction - Impressive details I must say... It has set the benchmark on computer generated realism for automobiles!!! Hope when it comes-out, and for Sony having settled their dispute w/ the company that produces force-feedback on the sixaxis that it will return in time for this game. Now all Sony has to do is wave their magic, and bring ( damage-mode - po...
Used to sex, drugs and rock n' roll...
Whatever happened to them mentioning about a Ten year lifespan for the PS3?
Seems like even in Japan, quite a rich continent - Costs does matter a lot. Next is portability...
Don't know how this type of mech-games do play - as not too many title ever had any lasting success, but hoping that it does deliver and same goes for the movie. I do remember though back then when I was part of the animation team doing a few series of The Transformers that were shown on T.V. Oh, how bloody hard they were to draw - truly. Liked the characters but hated the details. But this ones' a totally different animal.
Nicky Grist - Colin McRae's navigator usually reads the pace notes for these games before... and the developers might not had the time to get his permission and/ or has other obligations which is why it sounded robotic ( probably just an inexperienced voice-over ), because with Nicky, he actually makes and reads while watching the game being played to him...
Put in more environments ( jungles - Asia/Africa, mountain hillside and countrysides just to name a few suggestions... please?... ), but leave the perfect in-car shots... This is such a good and engaging new genre of driving/racing/wondering? game.
